Startled by the crowd he heard gathering across the road, Punxsutawney Phil feared he slept through his February 2nd date to predict when spring will appear. While rushing across the road to meet the media, Phil was asked to pose while crossing Country Road 53. Phil's ego got the best of him at that point, and he lost his head, literally.
